UKSIC goes virtual with its first Q&A session!
May 2021
Built upon the passion, experience, and knowledge of the team, UKSIC was constantly searching for new and innovative ways to reach its dynamic customers: Sri Lankan students aspiring to study in the UK. In May 2021, UKSIC took its campaign to a whole new level by hosting a live Q&A via zoom. This was a new and exciting step that gave the team a chance to share their expertise and clarify doubts with students who need it. Helanka Rajapakse (Co-founder- UKSIC) sheds light on her experience saying, “We realized that this is the best way to engage with potential students. There are many misconceptions about studying in the UK as a
foreign student and the best way to clarify these and provide accurate information is to use a digital platform. It was a success overall and around 50 to 60 students participated. I'm extremely happy to have had the opportunity to host”
UKSIC saw a gap in accurate and timely information about higher education in the UK for international students. Having studied there as student immigrants and emerging successful has left Hasitha and Helanka with an ambition towards bridging this gap. Hence, these virtual Q&A sessions provide them the opportunity to understand student concerns and provide practical solutions to make their journey a little smoother.
Helanka, who hosted the session all the way from the UK was happy to be overwhelmed by a myriad of questions raised during the one hour. “There were questions about what courses/ universities to select, entry requirements, eligibility, living conditions, and the UK job market. Providing them with up-to-date and practical advice for clarifications was a rewarding experience.”
The session provided a convenient and approachable platform to all students with a dream to study in the UK. As for UKSIC, the session was an immense success. Their objective of giving accurate information that will give tangible results by guiding them to success in the UK, was achieved.
