Launching Fresh Bounce: How it all began!

The idea for a holding company occurred back in 2015 as Hasitha Rodrigo (Managing Director - Fresh Bounce) was simultaneously running two startups in the UK: one in the Finance industry and the other belonging to higher education! Along with these two, the other multiple business plans in place for the coming years provided the perfect opportunity for a parent company to emerge. Knowing the struggles of initiating and managing a new business, Fresh Bounce would also have the chance to give the support needed for many entrepreneurs navigating these turbulent waters.

The question was, where should Fresh Bounce’s physical presence be? And this is where Sri Lanka came into play. Strategically speaking, Sri Lanka has a booming community of skilled workers to bring businesses in the Energy, Education, and Finance sectors into life. The decision also had a few emotional strings attached to it. As described by Hasitha himself, “I brought Fresh Bounce to Sri Lanka as a humble gesture of gratitude. After all, it is where I was born and raised. So, I would be lying if I said that the decision was solely based on commercial interests. I wanted to give something back to the country and its community while paving the way to my own success”.

This idea came into reality in 2016, as we finally registered Fresh Bounce and opened its main office in the bustling city of Nugegoda, right outside Colombo! Solar World: one of our significant projects in sustainable energy started simultaneously attracting a small team of energetic, talented, and passionate individuals to carry it forward.

Since then, Fresh Bounce has been consistently growing and standing by its promise to invest in people and enrich their lives, by creating opportunities to thrive in what they are passionate about. Although we started small, our vision is to become the best and the leading Sri Lankan facilitator in accessing global business opportunities.

Elaborating, Hasitha states, “Our plan is to bring a few companies under Fresh Bounce to Colombo Stock Exchange is one of many dreams that I and my team have been working towards all this time and I am positive that we will reach this target when the time is right.
